What our residents say ...
Catherine Stainton and husband Ivan
Both local, in their 50s and still working. The couple moved to The Bowling Green
from their home in Urmston.
Catherine says The Bowling Green "ticked all the boxes".
"It was new and has beautiful modern facilities, including many of the things I was used
to from our previous home. It even had the same style of cooker which is important to me
because I like to cook most evenings.
"Neither of us have ever lived in an apartment before, but we are now complete converts. It is a good size, with two bedrooms and a balcony we can sit out on. It's also nice and secure which is what we were looking for.
"A big bonus was the fact that the apartments are for over 55s only. This is perfect for us. It is very quiet and relaxing, but we have also made friends among the other residents and there is always the chance to chat with them in the lounge at weekends and when we're popping in and out. The atmosphere is very welcoming and pleasant.
"We're also delighted that is has such a lovely garden, giving us the benefit of being able to sit out in it and enjoy it, without having to do the hard work of the upkeep!
"My husband particularly loves the fact that the apartment is so warm and cosy. He feels the cold terribly, but not here. It is lovely and snug. Our other house was older with high ceilings which made it draughty and difficult to heat fully."
The couples' house sold quickly and unexpectedly. "It sold in the very week we were ready to sign the part-ex papers. We were very lucky. But Seddon Homes were great about it, very understanding and didn't mind at all. We were able to move in within two months."
